I love bikes. They're my favourite product of the Industrial Revolution. I started urban cycling in earnest in 2010, while attending university in downtown Toronto—not too many bike lanes back then!

After going for a few 30 kilometre rides with friends during the pandemic, I decided to pick up a steel road bike. Initially, I was looking for a Marinoni, but ultimately I ended up with a 1997 Pinarello Vuelta.

I've been riding the same bike for a long time, a 2007 Trek FX 3.2. A fit of wanting to keep up with the Joneses has me putting together a 1997 Brodie Kinetic for that real steel feel. Watch this space for more about this build.
